RCV will kick off our first Membership Drive in June, 2016!
SPECIAL CHARTER MEMBERSHIP OFFER
To raise start-up funds and thank our early supporters, RCV is offering a special Charter Membership rate of 13 months for the price of 12 – that’s $420 for individuals and $630 for a two-person household. This one-time offer is only available until June 30, 2016 and must be prepaid in full. All membership terms start when volunteer-based services begin.
We will be sending out Membership Applications soon, so watch your mail for more information!
As a member-run organization with a small paid staff, the Village will coordinate volunteer help for older people in Humboldt County. The RCV Steering Committee has set an annual membership fee of $420 for an individual ($630 for a household) with a commitment to assist lower-income members. Members help Members, and outside Volunteers of all ages help members with the kind of tasks a friend would provide. There is no fee to become a Volunteer.
Steps to becoming a RCV Charter member
- Complete a Membership Application and mail it to A1AA, Attn RCV, 434 7th Street, Eureka, CA 95501 by June 30, 2016. Membership Application forms are available through the RCV office and by email from info@redwoodcoastvillage.org.
- You will then be invited to attend an orientation meeting.
- You also will be sent an online invitation to complete a confidential, online Verified Volunteers background check. RCV office staff can help with this process if you need guidance or are not online.
- After your application has been approved, you will be asked to pay your membership fee in full by check, credit card, or debit card.
AFTER JUNE 30 regular Memberships will be available online through a new website that will have online commerce (same web address!). Applications for Trillium Scholarships for lower income members will also start in July.
Bear with us, this is a volunteer-based start-up!
Here is how Redwood Coast Village will work: Members 50 and older will be able to call our central number to request assistance with:
- Going your Way – Transportation to appointments, shopping, social activities and more
- “Helping Hands” for light fix-it jobs, occasional pet care, and help with home technology
- Member Recommended Businesses: lists of plumbers, caregivers, gardeners, etc.
- A social bulletin board for events and activities
- “One phone call” help with RCV services and referrals to other agencies
- Check-in phone calls
Members offer their skills to help each other, and outside volunteers of all ages provide additional needed assistance. We are a grass-roots, non-profit group, creating the future we want to live in.
JOIN THE MAILING LIST – TELL YOUR FRIENDS – DONATE TO SUPPORT RCV!
We’re realistic about the transitions that come with getting older. We will help our members prepare for and navigate these transitions by offering friendship, expert guidance, services and – who can live without it? – fun!
